Many homeland security partners face significant budget challenges and struggle with evaluating and selecting information sharing and collaboration tools and resources from the myriad of choices available to support their missions. This panel will help address these challenges by presenting overviews of three to five federally-funded information gathering and sharing tools and resources provided by DHS and available to all homeland security partners. The panel will be applicable to Federal, State, and Local homeland security professionals across a multitude of mission areas including law enforcement, emergency management, critical sectors, intelligence and analysis, and public health.

Panelists including the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) and Law Enforcement Information Sharing System (LEISS) will provide a brief overview of each resource, including how they work together, and then discuss how homeland security partners across mission areas currently use each of the tools to achieve greater situational awareness in steady-state operations as well as during incidents. Other potential panelists and topics include the Homeland Security Data Network (HSDN) and the National Operations Center (NOC).
