Women in Federal Law Enforcement comprise only 16% of all of the federal law enforcement officers in the USA. As reported by the Bureau of Justice Statistics in 2004, the latest survey, there are 106,000 federal law enforcement personnel authorized to carry firearms and make arrests. The 2008 survey is pending and anecdotal information indicates that the latest representation may show a decrease in the number of women. Research shows that women perform just as well as their male counterparts but why are the numbers not reaching critical mass after more than 35 years of the signing of a presidential executive order allowing women to carry firearms and become agents.

Join us for this briefing and an interesting look at the best ways agencies recruit and retain women in their departments/agencies. Hear from speakers from the FBI, IRS and ATF. A very interactive session will provide some guidance on how to improve your recruitment efforts.
