The Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate; the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Water Security Division; along with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have co-hosted several Multi-Sector Infrastructure Protection and Threat Workshops across the country. This interactive session at GovSec/U.S. Law 2012, will replicate the tabletop exercise portion of the workshop and take attendees through a criminal event impacting water services. The tabletop exercise provides the opportunity for attendees to better understand the capabilities and assets outside of their own sector, as well as learn about their own role in an emergency impacting the Water Sector.
Learning Points:
- Increased overall awareness about the interdependencies across critical infrastructure sector.
- The roles and responsibilities of various local, state, Tribal, and federal officials in a multi-sector terrorist or criminal event; as well as in a manmade or natural disaster;
- Ways in which they can interact with emergency responders outside of their own sector.
