Sr. Emergency Preparedness Manager
Crisis Command Center Operations, Guardian Life Insurance Company of America
Dave is the Senior Emergency Preparedness Manager for Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. He received an honorable discharge from the Pennsylvania State Police after a 25 year career which included assignments in patrol, criminal investigation and Bureau of Professional Responsibility. He was a Hostage Negotiation Unit Team Leader and served as a station commander in his final assignment. After leaving the PSP, Dave began a transition into new fields of opportunity involving safeguarding information and business continuity. He held various positions in the corporate and private security sectors before joining Guardian during the Superstorm Sandy recovery effort as a security consultant. Being part of Guardian’s Crisis Command Center during the Sandy response and recovery gave Dave a hands-on opportunity to participate in the evolution of the reactive command center concept adapted from a modified Incident Command System format into Guardian’s present day Risk and Resiliency Operations Center.
Dave’s role with Guardian is multi-functional, having responsibility for forming public/private partnerships with Offices of Emergency Management in each of Guardian’s regional home office locations, performing threat assessments and maintaining command center tools such as the emergency alert system, geo-mapping programs and incident alert aggregation services. His daily situational awareness function facilitates a coordinated crisis command and incident management structure which protects the interests of Guardian’s stakeholders, corporate reputation and continuity of business.
