“Killology” Developer Gives Insight into Violence And New Breed of Domestic Terrorism

In a recent interview on The Glenn Beck Program, Lieutenant Colonel, Dave Grossman, U.S. Army (Retired) gave a fiery synopsis on the tragedy that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut and how these

events can be prevented. He believes that violent video games contribute to gun violence in schools and lack of consequences in the games is reflected in school shootings. Lt. Colonel Grossman offered thoughts on a wide variety of issues regarding violent crimes including how violent video games have desensitized children.

The director of Warrior Science Group and noted author has received international recognition due to his establishment of a new field of psychological study, “killology”. As a former West Point psychology professor, Professor of Military Science, and an Army Ranger, Lt. Colonel Grossman has combined his experiences to become the founder of this new scientific study revolving around crime and violence. He has authored three books, “On Killing”, “Stop Teaching our Kids to Kill: A Call to Action Against TV, Movie and Video Game Violence” and “On Combat”. Grossman has made presentations at over 100 different colleges and universities worldwide, and has trained educators and law enforcement professionals, in the field of school safety, at the state and regional level, in all 50 states and over a dozen foreign nations.

Grossman is not shy about giving personal accounts of his own life as he explains killing and the psychological costs of war, the causes of the current ‘virus’ of violent crime that is around the world, and how to begin the healing process for victims of violence, in war and peace. Grossman’s work has also included working with local police and military offices, and with mental health professionals in the wake of school shootings. He helped train mental health professionals after the Jonesboro school shootings and was also involved in counseling or court cases in the aftermath of the Paducah, Springfield, Littleton, Virginia Tech and Nickel Mines Amish school shootings.

Lt. Colonel Grossman is the United States’ leading trainer on military and law enforcement psychology and he will be a providing some of his insights on violence and violent crime, while discussing the new breed of domestic and international terrorism. He will share his expertise on prevention, response as well as survival stories during a special presentation at GovSec, the Government Security Conference and Expo in Washington, DC, May 14.
