“One of America’s Greatest Warriors” Can Help You Transform Your Organization
General Stanley McChrystal, the former commander of U.S. and international forces in Afghanistan and former leader of the Joint Special Operations Command, has been gaining quite a bit of notoriety for his recently released book - My Share of the Task: A Memoir
Named “one of America’s greatest warriors” by Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, McChrystal pulls no punches while sharing his account of some of the most important and controversial events of his distinguished career. According to Walter Russell Mead, author of Special Providence and God and Gold, it is a book for anyone who “wants to understand the challenges of leadership in America today”.
The book explores his involvement with the war against al Quaeda and a number of other terrorist groups, as well as the origins of the CIA’s post 9/11 relationship with the Special Operations forces. The Washington Post says one of the highlights of My Share of the Task: A Memoir includes Gen. McChrystal’s account of his secret plans to reconstruct the Pentagon’s Joint Special Operations Command and assassinate Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who commanded a tremendous number of suicide bombers to fuel Iraq’s civil war.
Gen. McChrystal will share some of these fascinating stories and insights during his stimulating keynote - The State of International Affairs and the Security Challenges Facing America – at GovSec
