ALICE Training Institute

ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate) is a comprehensive program which utilizes existing communication technology, building infrastructure and training for citizens to use pro-active strategies which moves beyond the traditional “Lockdown-only”. ALICE provides a toolbox of options from which those under attack can choose based on what works best for their situation. We address providing information, consideration for mass evacuation, the effective use of barricades during Lockdown and our counter concepts which makes the job of shooting accurately more difficult. Participants will leave with ideas and concepts which will start conversations with their citizens and law enforcement administrators.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to discuss the historical perspective and lessons learned from previous active shooter events.
  2. Participants will be able to discuss the concepts of ALICE.
  3. Participants will be able to discuss the government and law enforcement agencies recommendations for citizen preparation to an active shooter event.
