Overview of National Guard domestic operations supporting civilian authorities.  Domestic use of military capabilities developed for federal overseas missions and how they are applied in support of civilian authorities during domestic incidents.  Use of joint/interagency training and exercises to enhance preparedness of military forces for large-scale or catastrophic incidents.  Outline current efforts to promote unity-of-effort and shared situational awareness with mission partners.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Familiarize audience with statutes and authorities involving National Guard support of civil authorities
  2. Familiarize audience with National Guard training and exercise programs supporting national preparedness
  3. Familiarize audience with National Guard processes and products used to identify potential capability gaps
