In this session, Dr. Glenn will address critical incident stress management specifically for emergency management and special response teams and the roles of managers, supervisors, and operational personnel. Dr. Glenn will discuss and illustrate the types of stress, reactions to stress and subsequent trauma, and the importance of peer-driven programmatic support for first responders to recover more quickly after a critical incident.

  1. Understand the levels of stress, pre and post-incident
  2. Understand the risk of Post-traumatic Stress disorder (PTSD)
  3. Understand the importance of peer-driven support
