CF1-2 Homeland Protection Certification - CHPP and CHPA

May 13, 2014

1:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Kenneth M. Glantz

Executive Director

National Domestic Preparedness Coalition

The lines separating the responsibilities of emergency response disciplines were blurred after the September 11th, 2001 attacks. Ten years later, there is a recognized need for responders from all disciplines, to include both public sector responders and private sector security professionals to have the knowledge, skills and abilities that allow them to participate in Homeland Protection related activities. Homeland Protection activities are common to both the public and private sector and include prevention, preparedness, protection, mitigation, response and recovery from, “all hazards” including terrorism.

This session is an introduction to the Certified Homeland Protection Professional (CHPP) and Certified Homeland Protection Associate (CHPA) certification programs, established by the National Sheriffs’ Association in partnership with the National Domestic Preparedness Coalition, through the Global Center for Threat, Risk, and Vulnerability. By attending this session, security professionals will learn the requirements, experience needed, syllabus and learning objectives they need to be recognized as having the competency, knowledge, skills and abilities in the blended discipline of Homeland Protection.
