Captain Neil Shaw was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and enlisted into the U.S. Army on July 11th, 1989. He served as a Military Policeman in various positions of increasing responsibility including Patrolman, Investigator, Desk Sergeant, Patrol Supervisor, and Watch Commander. In 2003 he volunteered for Recruiting Duty and served in multiple positions, such as Recruiter, Recruiting Station Commander, and Recruiter Master Trainer. He retired from the Army on December 31, 2011 after serving for 22-and-a-half years.
He has multiple specialized training courses to include: Recruiter Master Trainer Course, Master Resiliency Trainer Course, Computer Applications Trainer Course, Pressure Point Control Tactics (PPCT) Defensive Tactics Instructor Course, Basic Military Police Course, Security Operations Course, Military Police Investigator Course, Protective Service Training Course, Blood Evidence Collection Course, Family Advocacy Staff Training Course (Basic), Family Advocacy Staff Training Course (Advanced), Domestic Violence Investigator Course, Army Equal Opportunity Representative Course, Security Managers Course, Army Recruiter Course, Battle Staff Course, Recruiting Station Commander Course, Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Specialist Training Course, Basic and Advanced Leadership Training Courses. He also maintained a SECRET U.S. government security clearance from July 1989 to July 2012.
Captain Shaw is affiliated with several organizations such as the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club - Member; American Legion - Life Member; Veterans of Foreign Wars - Life Member.
