SLS2-1 Moving Beyond Lockdown: An overview of the ALICE Response Program to Active Shooter Events

November 20, 2013

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The ALICE program is designed to provide citizens and organizations with practical, common sense, and proactive response options that can be used during life threatening situations. The ALICE concepts include both mental and physical strategies that can play a vital role in survival. Proactive response strategies are becoming much more common in recent years, however, the ALICE program has been teaching these strategies to public and private organizations for over a decade.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Attendees will articulate how passive response plans have resulted in abnormal casualty rates in mass shootings of the past.
  2. Attendees will define the ALICE concepts.
  3. Attendees will summarize proactive response recommendations and support from both prestigious law enforcement and education organizations.
